Peroxide teeth whitening is the process of applying specialist solutions that contain a mild form of peroxide.

There are usually two forms of peroxide - hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide.

The oxidizing element cleanses the rod-like crystal infrastructure of enamel and oxidizes stain deposits resulting in whiter teeth.

Over a period of time, significantly shortened by the use of a special light, the dentin layer lying beneath the enamel, is also bleached.
